Five Covenant Health employees were named recipients of 2018 Cardiac Services Excellence awards in recognition of their exemplary care of heart patients, outstanding performance in cardiac services, and demonstrating Covenant Health’s Standards and Behaviors and Pledge of Excellence.
Today Parkwest celebrated by graduating its largest cohort of nurse residents to complete the Covenant Health’s Nurse Residency Program. Peninsula also celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of nurse residents. The 12-month structured program used classroom learning seminars, case studies, small group discussion, precepted clinical practice, and evidence-based practice projects to train the newly-graduated nurses.

Three Covenant Health hospitals – Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville and Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge – have joined other community health care providers in a new shock initiative for treating heart attack patients. The shock initiative includes a newly developed algorithm which improves survival. Covenant Health represents
