Hash already holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has chosen to pursue the field of nursing. His hope is that his understanding of psychology, his dedication to patient care, and a degree in nursing will help bridge the gap for patients who have both medical and mental health needs.
Smith, who has worked in Environmental Services for two years, currently works night shift in order to care for her three children. She has enrolled at Roane State pursuing a degree in Health Information Technology.
The Silver Lamp Awards are presented by The Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee to enhance the skills of dedicated healthcare professionals. The recipients receive scholarship funds in the amount of $2500 toward their continuing education. Hash and Smith will be recognized at a banquet early next year, along with the recipients from other area hospitals throughout the region.
