Graduation Day: First Nurse Residents Complete Program

Posted on June 15, 2017 in News

Today Parkwest celebrated with our first cohort of nurse residents to complete the Covenant Health’s Nurse Residency Program.  The 12-month structured program used classroom learning seminars, case studies, small group discussion, precepted clinical practice, and evidence-based practice projects to train the newly-graduated nurses.

At today’s graduation the group was welcomed and congratulated by chief administrative officer Neil Heatherly and chief nursing officer Lynn Cagle, as well as nurse residency program coordinator Sara Meadows. Covenant Health chief nursing officer Janice McKinley was also on-hand to congratulate the graduates.

Thanks to all of the Parkwest leaders who worked closely with the nurse residents in their departments, and to nurse educator Pam Sparks and her team for their dedicated support to the program.
