Staff Throwback Thursday
Welcome to our weekly feature — Staff Throwback Thursday! In this feature we’ll be checking in with employees who have worked with Parkwest/Covenant Health for more than twenty years! We hope you enjoy learning more about our long-term employees!
John Lewis, Materials Management Associate 3
- How long have you worked at Parkwest? I’ve been at Parkwest for 21 years: started as a distribution tech, and then in shipping & receiving, and then became a materials associate 2 in 2000, and materials associate 3 in 2003.
- How much has the hospital grown or changed since you were hired? I have seen this hospital grow so much. This hospital has ability do more, provide more techniques, more scans, more ultrasound, new devices, and reaching out to our communities.
- What’s your favorite memory of working at Parkwest? My favorite memory working at Parkwest is when they were expanding the hospital before the new expansion. They had to put huge trailers behind Parkwest to store the supplies and for us to work out of it. I thought that was unique for some reason, we adapt to the change and made it the best for better future.
- What’s kept you at Parkwest over twenty years? What has kept me at Parkwest is the caring, helping, kindness, compassion, working together, reaching out, security and stability.
I do feel this is the place to be at Covenant Health because of job security and a way to reaching out to our people in our communities. They are the reason why we are here. We need them and they need us.
